Getting started

Install

Download and open the unsigned Thesivor build on macOS, Windows or Linux.

In short

Pick the file for your computer, then open it despite the operating system's warning — the preview build is not code-signed. macOS has the tested builds; the Windows and Linux files are previews and have not been launched by the vendor.

1Download the right file

  • macOS, Apple silicon (M1 or later): Thesivor-0.1.0-mac-arm64.dmg
  • macOS, Intel: Thesivor-0.1.0-mac-x64.dmg
  • Windows 64-bit: Thesivor-0.1.0-win-x64.exe (preview)
  • Linux: Thesivor-0.1.0-linux-x86_64.AppImage or Thesivor-0.1.0-linux-amd64.deb (preview)

2Open an unsigned build

macOS: drag Thesivor to Applications, then right-click (Control-click) it → Open → Open. If macOS says the app is damaged, run this once and open it again:

xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Thesivor.app

On recent macOS you may instead use System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway.

Windows: run the installer. SmartScreen says "Windows protected your PC" → More info → Run anyway. The install is per-user and asks for no admin password.

Linux (AppImage): chmod +x Thesivor-0.1.0-linux-x86_64.AppImage then run it. If it does not start, install FUSE 2 or run with --appimage-extract-and-run.

Linux (.deb): sudo apt install ./Thesivor-0.1.0-linux-amd64.deb.

3Start the app

Launch Thesivor. The window opens on Home with the idea box. No account is required.

For technical users

The builds are unsigned: no Apple certificate, no notarisation, no Windows certificate. macOS and Windows therefore warn. The .dmg is 137,394,165 bytes in the recorded build; the unpacked app is about 442 MiB. On Linux the .deb installs to /opt/Thesivor and declares its libraries, including ALSA; the app was not launched on Ubuntu during the build (only installed and checked). A manual test checklist for Windows and Ubuntu is provided. The Windows and Linux launch paths are UNVERIFIED.
