Handle reviews and write the response letter
The inbox, the workbench, mock review, the response letter and the changes PDF.
In short
When reviews arrive, Thesivor keeps them attached to the exact version that was reviewed. You work through the comments one at a time, and the app writes a response letter with a location for every change. You can also run a mock review before you submit.
1Paste or import the reviews
The inbox accepts pasted text or .txt, .md, .pdf, .docx and .eml. Its own parsers split the text into reviewers and numbered comments; fix the split by hand if needed. A model is used only when you press Split with AI, and only if every word is kept.
2Work the comments
In the revision workbench each comment has a status. Address with AI proposes a diff you apply hunk by hunk; Draft all open queues one call per open comment, applying nothing until you approve. A comment that asks for an experiment offers a notebook task (never run for you); one that asks for literature offers a vault search.
3Freeze the revision
The revision is a new frozen version. The submitted version and its reviews are untouched.
4Generate the letter
The response letter compiles, quotes each comment, and gives each change its section, page and line in the new version. The length counter counts what the venue counts; Tighten to fit shortens replies only and never touches quoted comments.
5Optionally, review before submitting
Mock review runs AI personas against the venue's own form and scales. Every criticism is located in the frozen source, scores carry a located reason, and the result is labelled "Mock (AI)" and never put in the letter.

For technical users
Reviews are confidential: record/reviews/ and review/ are excluded from git by default (in your own repository via .git/info/exclude plus a removal-only commit for anything already tracked), never deposited to Zenodo, and never placed in a CLI agent's workspace. Review AI tasks run only on the engine you pick explicitly. The changes PDF uses the app's own source-level markup (latexdiff was not used: GPL-3.0 Perl, no Perl runtime in the download system).
